Billy Tomkins manages Kingfisher Midlands and is supported by a great team of buyers, account managers, fishmongers and delivery drivers. Many of these staff have up to 20 years industry knowledge.
Billy started his career in seafood as a fishmonger, moving into purchasing as a fresh fish buyer and then into sales before taking on the depot Manager role at Kingfisher Midlands; so his fish business knowledge is well rounded.
With its central location, Kingfisher Midlands is ideally situated to source fish from all the main UK ports. Kingfisher Midlands’ fresh fish buyer, Heather, sources fresh fish each day from UK ports including, Brixham, Newlyn, Plymouth, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Shetland Islands, Brighton and Newhaven. Heather also buys exotics and can source products to suit customer requests.
Kingfisher Midlands also offers a fantastic range of frozen and chilled seafood products. Frozen food buyer, Damon, ensures the selection of frozen products suits all types of caterers and the product range includes many bespoke items.
Our experienced sales team are available Monday to Friday, led by Mel they are at the end of the phone, ready to take customer orders, inform of daily specials, advise on availability and offer menu suggestions. Mel joined Kingfisher Midlands in the summer of 2013 but has worked in the fish industry for over 10 years so offers great knowledge on fish and seafood. A talented chef, Mel is also able to advise on menu planning.
Our experienced team of fishmongers, managed by Steve, work throughout the night to prepare customers fish and seafood orders to their exact specifications ready to be dispatched early the following morning.
Richard manages the distribution team who know their way around the Midlands like the back of their hand! Our drivers aim to deliver customer's orders at a time most suitable to them and in a careful manner ensuring the fish is kept in prime condition.
